Hey friends!

Today, we’re talking about my top resources I recommend for creating and selling your own journals.

I will put them here in list form, then I will briefly discuss each one and the benefits of that tool. First, here’s some basic info I tell everyone before they start creating and selling.

Journaling is an extremely powerful practice, and can truly change people’s lives.

Journaling can be a game changer when it comes to maintaining mental health.

There is something about writing and getting your thoughts out that is very therapeutic.

Sometimes, it can be hard at first to start.

It can be debilitating to sit there and not know what to write. Also, it’s pretty normal to feel weird when you start writing. That’s why I started creating journaling books and guides, to help people through this process.

It is totally normal to resist journaling. It can be scary to see your thoughts on paper. But try it once and tell yourself you can throw away the paper as soon as you want to. Just give it a try.

I started journaling a lot when my younger brother died of an overdose in 2016 at the young age of 28. I also sought counseling and life coaching, but journaling has been key for me, as well.

I’m Holly Ecimovic, I create books and journals for health and emotional wellness, and for those who love personal development + fitness. (Grab my Fitness Manifestation Journal, here!)

I also design journals. Download all my freebies for your coaching clients, or treat yourself, over here in my Free Stuff Vault [ACCESS NOW.]

Now, here is a breakdown of what I use to make money selling journals online:

LIST OF TOOLS:

Canva

Squarespace

PlaceIt / Envato

LeadPages

Teachable

Pinterest

Now, here’s more details on each tool I use, and which ones I recommend:

CANVA

First, I highly recommend using Canva for graphic design, creating templates, creating PDFs, and pretty much any digital creation you desire.

Canva is basically a design tool that can be used to create all things digital. It’s a free tool, but you can also pay for different levels of access if you want, if you desire more features and a more vast array of options.

I personally use Canva Pro. I can do all my photo editing, design layouts, Pinterest pins, digital images, PDFs, and use all of their templates and stock images in Canva. You can even create other things, like calendars and digital resumes. It is a very easy-to-use platform.

I create and sell my journals using Canva. I love this tool, and I highly recommend it!

CONVERTKIT

ConvertKit is the program I use for my email marketing. It is extremely easy to use, has excellent customer service, and it also has plenty of tutorials for you, and also offers many ways to track your metrics.

Using ConvertKit, you can manage your email list, tag people, and target specific groups with content you want them to see.

ConvertKit offers ways for you to build a business. You will do this in ConvertKit by creating free opt-in gifts to get people on your email list. You then manage your list and send emails to them as you desire; next, you can even create sales funnels to direct people to the products of yours that you think they would love best. You can even plan out your emails ahead of time, and automate them! You can get as complicated, or as simple, as you prefer. It is magical.

ConvertKit also offers you ways to sell your digital products, and to create landing pages.

I highly recommend using this platform; I used to use a totally different program, and ended up switching to ConvertKit, because they are the best in the industry, in my opinion. CLICK HERE to start your free trial! You will not regret it, in fact, I am probably saving you money by telling you to use them now, instead of throwing money away on another program before you ultimately end up switching to ConvertKit!

SQUARESPACE

Squarespace is the platform I use to host my website. I absolutely love Squarespace because it is easy to use, has good customer service, and they also have great levels of membership that are not too expensive.

Remember, you do not have to have your own website to sell your journals, but it is definitely something that I love to have.

Your website gives all of your stuff a “home.” I consider having a good website as my home base. I recommend Squarespace instead of Wordpress as well, because Squarespace loads faster, in my opinion. Read more about Squarespace, HERE.

PLACEIT

PlaceIt is awesome because this is where you will build your mockups.

A mockup is a visual example of your product you are selling, for example, you will build a mockup of a journal you have. You can choose from thousands of mockup templates in PlaceIt. Not only can you design cool digital mockups, but you can build logos, designs, videos, and even gaming stuff on this program. So useful! The mockups also look really pro, too. LEADPAGES

LeadPages is a great tool I use for landing pages and sales pages, but you can do so much more with it.

I love to create lead magnets in there (for example, a free version of a journal I have, or just a plain PDF sheet, a special link to a web posting, whatever you want) and then my landing pages get people into my sales funnel, where then they are sent my lead magnet.

It is truly a wonderful tool.

People can get on to your email list this way! You can incorporate the use of Stripe, a payment system, into LeadPages so that you can set it up so people have to pay you before they receive their gift. Or, you can opt to make it free for them. Much like ConvertKit, you can create and ultimately sell your digital products through LeadPages. Their customer service is also excellent.

Find all you need to know about LeadPages, HERE.

TEACHABLE

Teachable is the platform I use to create and sell my courses. It is extremely easy to use, and you can basically use course templates to set up your course and your sales pages.

Lots of people use Teachable as well, so they will be familiar with your course, most likely, if they have signed up for online courses before using the platform.

The customer service is excellent and lots of tutorials are provided. You also set up your form of compensation and payment using Stripe if you want to.

I love Teachable because it is a very clean, straight-forward platform to use. Your students will be able to easily follow along with you, and can easily contact you for support, if you’d like them to have that option (yes!) Learn all about Teachable, HERE.

PINTEREST

I use Pinterest to get people onto my email list. How do I do that?

First, you create a landing page or a blog post, to house your free opt-in gift for your audience.

Then, you create a Pin that someone will click on to lead them to your landing page.

If you have what they are looking for, BAM! They will opt-in, receive your free gift, and hopefully stay on your email list for life (if you keep giving them what they want. Otherwise, they will unsubscribe from you.)

Pinterest has gotten me lots of success in getting people on my email list. Probably 90% of my email list has been generated from Pinterest! This is one marketing tool that I highly suggest you take advantage of. Plus, there are tons of excellent Pinterest marketing podcasts out there - I recommend you listen to Kate from Simple Pin, her Podcast is absolutely wonderful!

THANK YOU

As you begin creating and selling your own journals, you will be on a journey that will change your life - earning an income from creating your own unique products is highly rewarding, and supplemental income is never a bad thing.

It took me months to make my first sale, but after you cross that line, it gets easier! Don’t forget to CLICK HERE to grab hundreds of free journaling samples I made for you to see for yourself, and you can also find excellent free creator guides on there.

Cheers to your courage!
